In the early 2000s, our founder and Chief Write-Off Warrior, Mark Craig, witnessed the growing financial struggles of medical providers and patients as a result of sheer greed on the part of private insurers. He saw CEOs grappling with mounting bad debt, relentless payer demands, and the pressure to keep healthcare institutions afloat while staying independent. He saw patients struggling to pay their ever-growing medical bills, often filing for bankruptcy while the insurance companies kept raking in outrageous profits.
Armed with a passion for justice and a deep understanding of systemic issues within payer policies, Mark and his team set out on a mission to advocate for meaningful change. We work to highlight the challenges inflicted by insurance practices and fight for reform, while simultaneously equipping providers with the tools and strategies needed to combat sneaky payer tactics.
